Truth and Punishment

In the old times, if you would challenge "science" (at that time religion), you would be most probably killed. Stoned, drowned, burned. Depending on the religion. Or thrown to lions. We look at those times and say that people were stupid, evil, fanatics, bigots, non-civilized.

We are fancy ourselves to be modern, civilized, intelligent, open-minded. But try to say anything about today's science. Yes, you will not be killed (probably). It would be far worse than that. You will be ridiculed, shamed, attacked, bullied, your funding will be removed, your titles (if possible) taken, all doors closed, friends will deny you. Why? Because we are not at all different than 5000 or 500 years ago. We only think so. And pretend. To calm our consciousness and bad feeling deep inside that knows that what we are doing is wrong.

So it is best to stop kidding ourselves - if you are against the mainstream, you will be severely punished. And this is how the world functions today as it was 5000 years ago. You know, the truth is out there (but don't tell it to no one).
